I thought I was going to throw this unit out. I already replaced it with a 660. Just by chance I stumbled across this website. I went down into the basement and dug up this old junk unit. Sent it in just for the hell of it and a week later it is back like new. Now I need to sell the 660!!! I love the 550 Garmin and Short electronics. Job well done guys. You are a diamond in the rough find company.

A replacement remote was $180-$300. Happened to find this service after searching several times. The standard service charge covered the repair. Shipped there and back within a week. Works great! I couldn't buy a used remote off EBAY for what Palmdr charged. Local MN company too. Worth every penny!

Failed Garmin switch fixed

The on/off switch failed after the rubber seal itself had failed some time previously. I had though the device probably a goner but found these folk on the web. Clear quote, timely repair, Garmin working again. I am very pleased.
