Arriving from Brazil my 10 yrs Garmin refused to show USA addresses and started to turn off and on every 10 seconds.
I mailed it to Short Tronics INC and 3 days later came back working as usual.
Professional people. I was lucky to find them through the WEB.

After being told by Garmin they could not help me, I came across Short Tronics while researching the web desperately for someone to get my GPS back in service .
I emailed Chris with my problem, he replied in a couple of hrs. with a yes I can, and here is what it will cost you; which by the way was more than reasonable!!
I sent my unit off ( with a personal check for payment), it was returned within 3 business days working like new!
In todays word I can\'t say enough about how refreshing it was to receive such courteous, reasonable, and super fast quality service.
I will tell all my many fishing friends about my great experience with Short Tronics, and Chris personally.

My beloved 10-year-old handheld GPS was getting terrible satellite reception and also wouldn't communicate with my laptop. After speaking with someone at Garmin, who said they no longer make or repair this model, I was thinking I would have to throw it away and buy a new one. This was not a cheap GPS: I paid about $350 for it. But then I found Chris Short and Short Tronics. I was stunned when I called and a human being answered the phone. Not only that, it turned out to be the owner of the business! Long story short, they fixed my GPS for $59 plus return postage, and I had it back just 5 days after I mailed it from my home in the Florida Panhandle to the company's location in Minnesota. I am a wildlife biologist in the middle of field season, and the ability to get my GPS repaired and returned to me that quickly was like a miracle. Chris and his company could easily rip off people like me, who have no other option but to spend hundreds of dollars for a comparable new GPS. But instead he charged me a very fair price for friendly and fantastic service. My GPS is working great again! And I have been telling lots of my field biologist friends about this company.

I received my Zumo 550 Monday July 25 in the afternoon and it works perfect.
I was ready to give up thinking that no one could fix this obsolete model
and I was a bit skeptical about you being able to find components to fix it.
Well I was wrong. You did a fantastic job....
My GPS looks new.
